chocolate mug cake (eggless)
A chocolate mug cake (eggless) drenched in honey is all i love on a gloomy day. When you do not have enough time to bake a cake in a oven, you could try this microwave single serving chocolate cake. The chocolate chips in this recipe yield a porous cake that is moist and soft. I had earlier posted a one minute chocolate cake recipe using finger millet flour / ragi flour. Today’s Microwave chocolate cake (single serving) is similar to that except that I have used choco chips here.The quantity of ingredients is the same whether you make it in a mug or a bowl or a ramkein. i made this in a bowl too so that it is easy to divide and share between my 2 lil ones. I have made this many times and has become one of our favorite recipes. My 9 year old kid has learnt to make this on his own and both brothers absolutely enjoy this.
Please note that this doesn’t taste like a baked cake, but yes if you are a chocolate lover, you will enjoy the texture and taste. for a vegan version, you can use almond , soya or cashew milk.

1.Mix well all dry ingredients. Thoroughly. Break any lumps
2.Mix all the wet ingredients
3.Mix dry and wet just until combined. do not over do
4.Grease a mug or a ramekin and transfer this mixture
5.Microwave for exactly 60 seconds. Keep watching after 40 secs to prevent spillage. it has never spilled for me. I use either a mug or a serving bowl.
Allow it to cool completely. run a skewer or a knife around and invert.

- Dry Ingredients (pls note all ingredients at room temperature)
- 3 tbps all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbps brown sugar
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- pinch of salt
- Wet Ingredients
- 3 tbsps milk
- 2 tsps olive oil
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Grease a mug or a ramekin
- Mix all dry ingredients well.Break any lumps
- Stir together all the wet ingredients in a different bowl
- Mix dry and wet just until combined.do not over mix
- Pour this mixture to greased cups
- Microwave fon high for 60 seconds.
- Allow it to cool completely. run a skewer or a knife around and invert.
